Cafeteria staff would like to inform parents and students and there will be a limited menu available on Friday, September 3. The regular menu will be in effect on Tuesday, September 7.

Registration for New Students to the area is on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 9:00 - 11:30 and 1:00 - 3:00 no appointment neccessary...please bring report card. If you have any further questions, please contact Michelle at 758-4660 press 1.

School year 2009-2010 is officially over. Students dropped in today to pick-up report cards and say good-bye for the summer.


Classes begin for the 2010-2011 school year on Friday September 3.

Report Cards will be handed-out in classrooms on Tuesday, June 29 from 8:30 - 9:30 am. Any uncollected report cards will be returned to the main office. The administrative assistants will be in the office until 4:00 pm on that day.

Parents who wish to have report cards mailed-out must provide the school with a self-addressed stamped envelope (8.5"x11"). This envelope requires two stamps.

Reports can be picked up during the summer, however, you will need to seek out a custodian to help you.

To All Parents and Students:

As you have no doubt heard, I will be retiring after 35 years of teaching and administration.

It has been my extreme good fortune to have spent the final 12 years of my career as a Vice-Principal (3 years) and as a Principal (9 years) at Riverside Education Centre. Throughout these twelve years I have been very fortunate to work in a beautiful educational facility. However, early in our school’s life, it became very clear that in order to create a positive learning environment, everyone – staff, students, parents and school community needed to work together.

It has been this “togetherness” that has allowed REC to become an exemplary middle school. I thank all of you who have been on this journey with me and has allowed my educational career to end on such a positive note.

I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Heather Douglas (current REC VP) was the successful candidate for the principal position. Congratulations, Mrs. Douglas.

The successful candidate for the vice-principal position will be announced in the near future.
